Ready or not, here I go!
1. I am the only sister of four brothers.
2. I am pretty good at swing dancing.
3. My other creative passion is baking.
4. I worked in business for 5 years as a sales representative.
5. My calico cat is 20 years old!
6. I have a terrible sense of direction; do not follow me if we are lost in the woods.
7. I adore gardenias.
8. Chocolate cannot be too dark for me.
9. I know how to write backwards (in cursive!).
10. Given a choice, I almost always pick blue.
Do you have a random fact you want to share about yourself?
Great post - am fascinated that you know how to write backwards in cursive! What inspired you to do that?
ReplyDeleteMy fact: When my husband gave me a handgun for Christmas (Walther P22 - yea!), the FBI made me wait for a week before I got it. Maybe I raised some flags with my research?!
I used to watch my left-handed friend write in school and once I said to him, "The way you have to do it is like if I were to write backwards!" So, I tried it and would take my notes that way in classes that moved too slowly for me. :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny about your story! Do you get pulled aside at airports, too? ;)
Half of yours are pretty true of me, too:
ReplyDelete3. I love both baking and cooking.
4. A lot of the costs of my education were paid by sales jobs. I was a waitress for only 2 1/2 months and said "never again!" These were great incentives to finish my education so I could get a job I loved!
6. I told students we took to Europe to ALWAYS tell me if they thought we were going the wrong way!! When we rechecked the map, they were often correct!
7. I adore all sorts of flowers, especially in shades of red, purple, pink, lavender, and white. Sadly, I'm allergic to many of the most fragrant ones and have to admire them outside from a distance.
8. I love 72-85% cacoa chocolate, but 92% was too dark.
I would also add:
**I usually multitask, and loved it when this term was coined which easily describes how I function.
**I love dogs, but not some care tasks like cleaning skunk smell off them.
**I am a night person! I am puzzled when many morning people disparage night people, since research shows this is inborn and usually not easily changed. I say "God creates people on all shifts!" I think employers are smart to offer flextime and let people choose hours when they can do their best work. As a student, too, I always did better in the p.m. My GPA didn't distinguish whether I learned in a.m. or p.m.!
Wonderfully interesting facts! What a great point you make about night vs. day people. And your comeback line is fabulous. I'm a morning person, but I'll use it the next time people think I'm boring because I'm ready for bed at 10:00.
